The Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has announced its sponsorship of the national padbol team’s participation in the third Nations Cup Championship, which will be held from September 6th to 8th in Austria.

In a press conference held yesterday, Wednesday, at the Lusail Sports Arena, the continuation and activation of cooperation and partnership were announced. The event was attended by Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Federation, and Fahd Younis Ahmed, the founder of the game in Qatar.

Abdullah Al-Dosari emphasized the importance of contributing and playing a significant role in promoting a culture of sports among all members of society. He also highlighted the Federation’s commitment to helping athletes introduce new sports that emerge on the global stage and to facilitate their introduction into Qatar.

Al-Dosari stated, “We are currently fulfilling our role in supporting Qatari youth who practice padbol. The game has attracted significant interest among Qatari youth, gaining acceptance and even becoming a passion for many. It has established a presence in the local sports arena after gaining international popularity. Last year, the Ministry of Sports and Youth sponsored the Qatari team’s participation in the World Championship, and we contributed locally by organizing padbol tournaments in the past two years, along with the educational program for padbol. Today, we are making a new contribution by sponsoring the national team’s participation in the Nations Cup in Austria in the coming days.”

The Head of Activities and Events at the Sports for All Federation expressed his hopes for a successful global participation in padbol, similar to the team’s performance in last year’s World Championship, to raise the Qatari flag in all international forums. He added that this aligns with the Ministry’s strategy to empower athletes and youth and showcase their talents. He also mentioned that supporting the youth serves as an incentive to spread padbol and the culture of sports, both individual and team, among members of society in general. In the coming period, school visits to the padbol training field in Aspire will be organized.

The Head of Activities and Events at the Sports for All Federation praised the efforts of those responsible for padbol in Qatar, especially in organizing local tournaments and attracting more youth to practice the game.

For his part, Fahd Younis expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Qatar Sports for All Federation for their substantial support in promoting padbol in Qatar through organizing local tournaments and sponsoring the Qatari team’s participation in international competitions.
