The Qatari Padel team secured fifth place in the 2024 Third Padel Nations Cup, which concluded in Austria, with the participation of teams from Portugal, Italy, Germany, Romania, Spain, Hungary, and Austria. Qatar competed in Group B alongside Portugal, Italy, and Germany. The team achieved an initial victory against Germany in the group stage before losing to Portugal and Italy. In the quarterfinals, Qatar was defeated by Spain, ultimately finishing the tournament in fifth place.

The Qatari team, sponsored by the Qatar Sports For All Federation under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, consisted of the duo Salem Al-Marri and Mubarak Al-Muhizea. This marks the second international tournament for the Qatari padel team, following their participation in the 2023 Padel World Cup in São Paulo, Brazil, where they finished in seventh place.

Abdullah Al-Dosari, Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports For All Federation, expressed confidence in the capabilities of the Qatari team, highlighting that this was their second appearance in a major international competition. He reiterated their commitment to supporting Qatari athletes, encouraging them to raise the Qatari flag at global sporting events, and reflecting the country’s sporting development. Despite the game’s recent introduction, Al-Dosari emphasized the team’s potential.

Fahd Younes Ahmed, the founder of the padel sport in Qatar, expressed satisfaction with the team’s progress both locally and internationally, appreciating the partnership with the Qatar Sports For All Federation. He thanked the Ministry of Sports and Youth, represented by the Federation, and noted that the team’s experience in the Nations Cup in Austria demonstrated the significance of the support they received, which positively impacted the players’ performance and their advancement in international rankings.
