The first round of group-stage matches in the tenth edition of the Qatar Youth Football League 2026, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation and the Ministry of Sports and Youth in partnership with Aspire Zone Foundation, delivered an exciting and competitive round marked by strong performances and good technical standards.
The four opening matches, which kicked off at 6:00 pm last Monday on Aspire pitches, saw Al Wakrah defeat Al Khor by three goals to one, in a match where Al Wakrah dominated throughout both halves. The second match ended in an entertaining 3–3 draw between Rumailah and Izghawa. In the third encounter, Katara secured a 2–0 victory over Isḥat, while the opening round concluded with a thrilling 2–2 draw between Al Hamla and Al Nasr, following a contest that remained exciting until the final minutes.
Competition continues with the second round of group-stage matches next Sunday, featuring four new encounters within the tournament, which includes 20 teams divided into four groups, with five teams in each group. Group One includes Lebsair, Asḥat, Katara, Al Shamal, and Fareej Al Zaeem. Group Two features Al Kass Channel, Al Khor, Al Wakrah, Al Owaineh, and Ras Laffan. Group Three consists of Al Mayda, Izghawa, Rumailah, Al Messila, and Khalifa City, while Group Four includes Aspire, Al Hamla, Al Nasr, Mesaieed, and Msheireb. The total number of participating players reaches approximately 400 players.
League matches are distinguished by their winter atmosphere, solid technical levels, and the high competitive spirit shown by participating teams, as players strive to deliver standout performances and showcase their football talents in this new edition of the Qatar Youth Football League. The tournament represents a strong launch for the federation’s activities in 2026, within a calendar filled with diverse sporting events and championships organized throughout the year.
Held in fruitful cooperation with Aspire Zone Foundation, the league provides an ideal opportunity for Qatari youth aged 16 and above to practice football regularly in an attractive sporting environment. Matches are officiated by experienced referees, with all necessary facilities and arrangements in place to enhance competition levels and ensure equal opportunities for all teams.
The Qatar Youth Football League is conducted according to regulations that allow the participation of Qatari amateur players who are not registered with the Qatar Football Association, with the exception of players from amateur, futsal, and beach football leagues. Teams compete with nine starting players, while each squad includes a minimum of 14 players and a maximum of 20 players.
