The Qatar Sports For All Federation successfully concluded the second edition of the global half-marathon race, “QNB One Run For All,” hosted at the Lusail International Circuit, with the participation of 3,240 runners of all age groups, representing 95 nationalities. The event coincided with the race being held simultaneously in 28 countries and 96 Russian cities, bringing the total number of participants worldwide to over 250,000 runners.
Runners in Qatar started the race at the same time as their counterparts in countries such as China, Brazil, Egypt, Serbia, Bahrain, Cameroon, Armenia, and many others, including dozens of Russian cities. This made the event one of the largest running events globally, reaffirming Qatar’s position as a leading international sports destination.
The race featured four distances:
-
1 km (for children and adults),
-
5 km,
-
10 km, and
-
21 km (half-marathon).
There was a significant turnout of Qatari male and female runners, with a total of 786 participants, including men, women, and children. Many of them achieved strong results in the various race categories, setting notable times and securing top placements. A “Fan Zone” was set up for children and families starting at 5 p.m., offering entertainment activities and distributing gifts.
Mr. Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al-Dosari, Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth and President of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all participants. He voiced his happiness with the high turnout this year, adding:
“The Sports For All Federation has made remarkable progress in recent years, now organizing 53 races annually, compared to just one race in its early days. This reflects our success and the great strides we’ve made in promoting a culture of community sports.”
He also revealed future plans to organize another edition of the QNB One Run For All during the holy month of Ramadan.
Al-Dosari added:
“We are celebrating the second edition of this global race in Qatar alongside broad international participation. It highlights the country’s commitment to making sports an essential part of its National Vision 2030. This year’s edition exceeded expectations, creating a festive and unforgettable atmosphere across all distances, reinforcing the values and concepts of ‘Sports for All’.”
In the men’s competitions, Jared Korir claimed first place in the Open Category, while Andrew Jones topped the Masters Category.
Among the women, Maris Lohami won the Open Category, and Renra Dela Rosa took first place in the Masters.
Meanwhile, Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, confirmed that Qatar is the first Arab country to host this global event. He described the race as a sports and social spectacle, noting:
“It wasn’t just a race—it was a major sporting festival. A total of 38 display screens were used throughout the Lusail Circuit, showcasing the ‘Sports For All’ slogan.”
He concluded:
“We look forward to holding all our upcoming events at Lusail Circuit, which offers an ideal and safe environment for both athletes and spectators.”
