Under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation declared the launch of the Ayal AlFareej championship in its 3rd season for the year 2024, for the age group from 9 to 16 years, which falls within the objectives of the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s strategy to discover talents and support young age groups.
The tournament starts on the 9th of Ramadan, Tuesday, 03/19/2024, at the Lusail Sports Club stadiums, and will continue in the form of a full football season throughout the year for schools, with matches in the morning, and others in the evening at youth centers and sports clubs, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Lusail Sports Club, Saumaisma and Al-Daayen Youth Center, and the Family Institute. The partnership and sponsorship arrangement was signed between the Qatar Sports for All Federation and Lusail Sports Club, during a press conference held last Thursday at the Lusail Sports Hall, in the presence of Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari – Head of Activities and Events at the Qatar Federation Sports for All, and Mr. Nawaf Al-Mudhahka – President of Lusail Sports Club.
Integrated sports program
Abdullah Al-Dosari stressed that the project of the Ayal AlFareej is not just a championship, but it is a completed program, in which parents are allowed to accompany their children during the training and matches, to support and motivate them. There will be accompanying activities during the time of the matches, in coordination with the Lusail Sports Club, and other supporting parties. It was decided by the productive families to organize an exhibition on the closing day of the tournament.
Al-Dosari illustrated that within the program the latest systems will be used to evaluate players, help develop their performance, and counsel them to reach the highest levels physically, mentally and technically, under the supervision of foreign coaches accredited by FIFA, to contribute to the transfer of global expertise and experiences.
An ambitious sports project
Nawaf Al Madhahka, President of Lusail Sports Club, declared that Ayal Al Freej Championship is a large and ambitious sports project, and is a priority within the strategy of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, given the new and creative concepts it contains in practicing sports and physical activity. The President of Lusail Club indicated that the Family Institute, headed by Dr Sharifa Al Emadi will have an important role within the program, focusing on the behaviors of school students who practice football, as sports are not only for training, but attention must be paid to teaching children behavioral discipline and promoting values and life skills, to encourage young people to be creative and develop skills. Nawaf AlMudhahka said His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, the former Minister of Sports and Youth, was the one who came up with the idea of the Ayal Al Freej project, and he was supportive of the idea of returning the school championship, which was launched in 1959 AD.
