Under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation launched the Sports for All Winter Muay Thai camp, in partnership with youth clubs and centers. The camp continues until the fourth of next January, for age groups from 7 to 15 years old. Registration is available for everyone through the Federation’s sport application. The Sports for All Winter Muay Thai camp, which started today, December 24, aims to develop the self-defense skills of boys and young people and to contribute to spreading the game, through an intensive training program to learn the laws of Muay Thai. The organization of the camp follows the great success achieved by the first Sports for All Muay Thai Championship, hosted by the Sumaysimah and Al Daayen Youth Center, after the Sports for All training program that was held last month and witnessed wide participation. Training has begun at Aspire Park, twice a week, for an hour and a half, starting at 3:30 and ending at 5 p.m. The second match will be organized next Tuesday, pointing out that the training is being held under the supervision of specialized trainers. In a related context, the camp activities are being held at the Sumaysimah and Al-Daayen Youth Center, which hosted a training tour on Sunday, from 3:30 in the afternoon until 5:30 in the evening, it witnessed a clear turnout and great interaction from young people, where the interest are obvious through determination, learning and training. Mostly since practicing Muay Thai is exciting and builds a challenge for the participants, who are passionate about entering the field of this sport. The winter training camp falls within the activities and programs of the Sports for All Federation, which aims to train in modern sports, such as padel, padbol, and Muay Thai. Training will continue throughout the week, on Mondays and Wednesdays at Al Sadd Sports Club for an hour and a half, from 3:30 until 5 p.m. The program activities will also continue at Al Gharrafa Park on Thursday at the exact times. Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Director of Activities and Events at the Qatar Sports for All Federation, confirmed that the Federation is organizing this camp as part of its keenness to learn this type of self-defense sports, which contributes to raising the physical fitness of young boys, gives them high confidence. And makes them able to practice different styles of defensive games, pointing out the federation’s encouragement to spread the culture of playing sports and involve sports clubs and youth centers. The organization of the Sports for All winter camp for Muay Thai is considered a continuation of what was achieved in the last versions of the training program for this sport, which is intended for diversifying sports activities and involving the largest number of community members in practicing physical activity and spread the culture of practicing sports in the country.
