The Qatar Sports for All Federation has completed all preparations for the 2025 edition of the Al Wakrah Challenge Race, scheduled for next Saturday, in collaboration with Trails Sports Events Company. This round of the race promises a unique and exceptional experience for male and female participants across various age groups, offering a great opportunity for competition and enjoyment amidst the natural beauty of the Al Wakrah area.

This event marks the fourth race in the Droob Qatar Desert Running Series, which features five races held across different regions of the country: Fuwairit, Sealine, Al Zubarah, Al Wakrah, and Al Khor. The series aims to offer an inclusive and exciting community sporting experience in Qatar’s diverse desert landscapes.

The race will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on a single round-trip trail course, with distances varying based on age categories. The event is open to all age groups, including children, youth, and adults.

Race distances are divided as follows:

  • 10 km and 5 km for participants aged 17 years and above

  • 3 km for juniors aged 7 to 16 years

  • 800 meters for children aged 3 to 8 years, on a round-trip course

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stated that preparations are complete to launch an exceptional edition of the Al Wakrah Challenge, which is part of the Droob Qatar Desert Running Series. He emphasized the Federation’s commitment to offering an exciting and challenging sporting experience in the heart of Al Wakrah’s scenic environment.

Al-Dosari also noted that the 2025 edition of the Droob Qatar series builds on the success of previous years, which witnessed wide participation from runners of all ages. These past events provided both athletic and family-friendly moments, with many participants achieving new personal records.
