As part of its role in promoting a culture of sport, encouraging sports participation across the community, and contributing to social inclusion, the Qatar Sports For All Federation, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, hosted the activities of the Sustainable Development Ambassadors Center’s Unified Football initiative under the slogan “Let’s Play Together”, organized in cooperation with the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Qatar Red Crescent Society. The initiative brought together children with disabilities and their non-disabled peers participating in the Sport for All Summer Camp 2026, in the presence of Mr. Abdulrahman Abdullah Hassan Al Maliki, Assistant Undersecretary for Sports Affairs at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation.
Lusail Sports Hall hosted the event, which comes as part of sports and community initiatives aimed at supporting various segments of society, promoting the concept of social inclusion through sports, and providing children with disabilities the opportunity to participate and interact with their non-disabled peers. A total of 53 children took part in the initiative, which featured a series of football matches marked by enthusiasm and interaction amid the encouragement of attendees. The program also included a dedicated health corner, along with a variety of games and recreational activities. At the conclusion of the event, winners were honored with medals and recognition awards, while all participating children were recognized in appreciation of their participation and to encourage them to continue practicing sports, reaffirming that sports are open to everyone and serve as a means of promoting social inclusion and reinforcing the values of participation and communication among all segments of society.
Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, explained that the objective of organizing the event is to integrate children with disabilities with their non-disabled peers, provide them with opportunities to participate in sports in an inclusive environment, and create an atmosphere of interaction and enjoyment. He stressed that sports are not exclusive to any particular group but are a right for everyone. He added that, through its community mission, the Federation is committed to supporting and partnering with various entities and institutions across the country and strengthening cooperation to reach all segments of society, including people with disabilities, senior citizens, and children, by providing sports programs and activities that meet their needs and abilities and help them adopt a healthy and beneficial lifestyle.
For her part, Ms. Iman Al Obaidi, Executive Director of the Sustainable Development Ambassadors Center, expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the Qatar Sports For All Federation in organizing such distinguished initiatives that provide opportunities for all members of society to participate in sports activities, emphasizing the importance of ensuring their continuity in the future. She added that the Center’s participation in this initiative stems from its belief in the importance of sports and their effective role in achieving social inclusion.
