In partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation is organizing weekly community running sessions every Thursday afternoon in public parks as part of the “365 Days of Activity” program, which aims to promote a culture of sports participation among all segments of society.
The running sessions take place at 4:30 pm in Aspire Park, Al Luqta Park, and Al Rayyan Park. Aspire Park recently hosted the second running session, which witnessed strong attendance and notable participation from people of all age groups.
The sessions are conducted in a safe and motivating environment and include a variety of training activities such as fitness exercises, competitive challenges, strength-training activities including push-ups, long jumps, and ball throwing, as well as balance and flexibility exercises. Participants then take part in running drills designed to improve physical fitness and enhance endurance.
Participants in the first Sports for All running session, held at Al Rayyan Park, expressed their appreciation for the diverse sports activities and events organized by the Federation, noting that these initiatives meet their aspirations and help them maintain a consistent and active lifestyle.
These community running sessions form part of the “365 Days of Activity” program, which accommodates both men and women. Al Luqta Park hosts training sessions dedicated to women daily from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm in a private and secure environment. Meanwhile, Aspire Park, Al Rayyan Park, and Al Gharafa Air-Conditioned Park host sessions for men from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm. All sessions are supervised by a distinguished team of qualified male and female coaches and aim to attract the widest possible segment of the community.
Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, explained that the community running sessions are part of the Federation’s “Sports for All” strategy, which seeks to broaden community participation in sports and physical activity while making effective use of green spaces and public parks by transforming them into open venues for exercise. He noted that these initiatives are attracting increasing interest from people of all ages and praised the positive atmosphere surrounding the sessions. According to Al Dosari, the growing participation and diversity of attendees reflect a rising awareness of the importance of sports and their role in improving quality of life, which encourages the continued development, expansion, and diversification of such initiatives.
He further emphasized that the “365 Days of Activity” program aims to engage all members of society—including men, women, children, and senior citizens—in sports and physical activity. The program serves participants aged 7 to 65 and provides a motivating, well-prepared sporting environment throughout the year. It offers training sessions that combine physical exercise with recreational activities, delivering a wide range of health benefits for those who maintain regular physical activity.
Through its 2026 calendar, which includes more than 850 events and activities, the Qatar Sports for All Federation seeks to engage all segments of society by offering a diverse range of programs that meet the interests and aspirations of different groups, while creating opportunities for the largest possible number of community members to participate in Sports for All activities.
