Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Al-Dana Girls Center is organizing a series of activities and workshops for seniors and young women in collaboration with the Ihsan Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Azghawa branch). These activities will take place during the last and fourth quarters of 2024, at both the Al-Dana Girls Center and the Ihsan Azghawa Club.

According to the planned schedule, the events will include a sustainability workshop at Al-Dana Center in collaboration with Al-Dana and Ihsan participants on the morning of Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Additionally, there will be a celebration for International Seniors Day on October 1 at the Ihsan Center in collaboration with Al-Dana Center. The program also includes a health workshop at Al-Dana on October 9, a program on Arabic medicine alternatives at Ihsan on October 23, a program on Qatari identity at Ihsan on November 12, and the “You Are Pride” event at Ihsan on November 20. Furthermore, World Diabetes Day will be celebrated at Al-Dana on November 27, and the events will conclude with an outdoor trip (“Kishta”) organized by Al-Dana on December 4.

Ms. Haya Ayed Al-Shammari, Deputy Director of the Al-Dana Girls Center, emphasized that the collaboration with Ihsan aims to enhance social responsibility among youth towards seniors by launching diverse programs that serve Ihsan’s members. Ms. Abeer Nasser Ahmed, an Implementation and Monitoring Specialist in the Awareness and Community Outreach Department at the Ihsan Center (Azghawa branch), noted that the Ihsan Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care operates under the Social Work Foundation of the Ministry of Social Development and Family, serving the senior population. She added that the center runs morning day clubs from 8 to 11 AM, where retired mothers and housewives aged 55 and above participate in various programs, activities, and events.

Ms. Abeer also highlighted the center’s commitment to collaborating with community institutions, state ministries, and youth centers. This year, they partnered with Al-Dana to host numerous events, including eight diverse activities from September 24 to December 4, spanning three months. Workshops will be held at both Al-Dana and Ihsan, targeting 120 women. Ms. Abeer expressed happiness with this partnership, aiming to foster cooperation, exchange experiences and cultures, empower seniors, integrate them into society, promote Qatari culture, and engage them with younger generations of girls and youth. She also expressed hopes for further collaboration with Al-Dana in the future.
