A new round of the Sports for All Fitness Championship was held on the green field of Al Rayyan Park. The event is organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, as part of an extensive agenda of community sports activities aimed at all members of society.
The championship is held within the framework of the “365 Days of Activity” program. Its events, which kick off tomorrow at 5:00 PM and last for one hour, include three main challenges: a strength challenge involving throwing a 5 kg iron ball, a speed challenge with a 100-meter sprint in an open field, and an endurance contest where participants test their fitness by holding the plank exercise for the longest possible time. The competitions conclude with awarding colorful medals and tangible prizes to the champions amid a festive atmosphere that also honors all participants to encourage ongoing engagement.
The championship is more than just competition and challenges; it represents a family sports festival where everyone can participate.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, emphasized that the championship is part of a series of diverse events organized by the Federation, the executive arm of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, aimed at community sports activities. The goal is to involve as many community members as possible and raise awareness of the importance of physical activity on a broad social scale.
Al-Dosari stated that organizing this championship also aims to encourage youth participation and increase the number of active individuals within the “365 Days of Activity” program, which the Federation runs daily in public parks throughout the year—men in the afternoon and women in designated private spaces.
He explained that the Federation supports participation from various state entities through its annual calendar, which includes approximately 750 sporting events and diverse community activities this year. These initiatives meet ambitions and help expand the base of sports practitioners across different community groups.
He considered the Sports for All activities a great opportunity for various groups—men, women, seniors, youth, and children—to engage in sports through diverse activities that include football, tennis, volleyball, shooting, running races, marathons, padel, swimming, equestrian sports, chess, fitness competitions, martial arts, and many other sports.
