“Night Run For All,” organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in cooperation with the Old Doha Port, Agor Sport, Qatar Calendar, and in partnership with 19 other entities, saw the participation of 1,350 male and female runners of various ages and nationalities. The race was held in wonderful winter conditions and featured a distinctive family-friendly atmosphere, as participants enjoyed an evening that combined the joy of sport with the beauty of the venue, creating a vibrant nighttime sporting scene along the Doha Corniche.

The race started at 6:00pm. last Saturday and activities continued until 10:00 p.m. at one of the country’s أبرز tourist destinations. This marked the second edition of the first-ever night running event on the Doha Corniche, as part of a series of innovative and specialized races organized by the federation to promote the concept of community sports and spread a culture of physical activity among all segments of society. The race competitions were held on a dedicated course inside the Old Doha Port, starting from the port’s eastern parking area, passing through the commercial zone and running track, reaching the giant ships’ docking area, before returning to the starting point.

The race was divided into two levels to include all age groups, starting from children as young as three years old up to the over-40 category, across open, masters, intermediate, youth, and children’s divisions, all on the same out-and-back course. The first level, over a distance of 1,600 meters, featured strong participation across four categories, while competitors fiercely contested the second level over a distance of 5km. Following the conclusion of the race, the top three finishers in each category were awarded medals and prizes, in addition to honoring all participants who completed the race, encouraging them to continue practicing sports and reinforcing the concept of “Sport for All.”

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, said that the second edition of the night run at the Old Doha Port presented a distinctive model for community sports events. He emphasized that the winter weather, along with the unique tourist location, contributed to delivering an exceptional experience for participants and their families. He added that the race achieved great success as an event held at a special venue, citing the wide turnout from different nationalities and all age groups. He noted that the strong family presence and continuous encouragement along the race route created a competitive and enthusiastic atmosphere that enhanced the value of the event.

The Executive Director affirmed that the race represents a valuable addition to the series of events organized by the federation under the “Sport for All” program during the current year. He explained that the federation, in cooperation with its partners, seeks to attract the largest possible number of community members to participate in diverse sporting activities and benefit from the sports and tourist venues that Qatar offers. He also praised the efforts of the partners in creating a suitable environment for practicing sports and contributing to the success of the federation’s events, confirming the continuation of cooperation with the Old Doha Port to deliver more high-quality sporting events in the coming period.
