A modern and dynamic logo for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™ has been unveiled ahead of the first edition of the tournament featuring 48 teams in November 2025.
The new logo cleverly integrates the coveted trophy as negative space within the letter “U” of “U-17,” creating a bold silhouette that also represents a spotlight — the core symbol representing the tournament’s new identity.
The result is an eye-catching visual mark that honors the heritage of the FIFA U-17 World Cup while simultaneously looking forward to the future of the game, as FIFA and the host country spotlight emerging players who are central to the story.
Layers of warm, overlapping colors radiate outward, symbolizing the widespread reach, inclusiveness, and dynamism of football worldwide, highlighting the discovery and development of young talent. Depicted as a beacon, the logo embodies the players’ energy and ambition, celebrates their journey from local fields to the global stage, and inspires fans with the promise of future stars.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Sports and Youth and Chair of the Local Organizing Committee, said: “We are pleased to launch the logo for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will represent an important milestone on Qatar’s football calendar over the next five years. Since the start of this decade, Qatar has hosted distinguished football tournaments at regional, continental, and global levels. The U-17 World Cup comes as a continuation of our efforts to support football development and our commitment to nurturing the next generation of athletes.”
He added: “We look forward to welcoming international youth teams to the first edition of the tournament featuring 48 teams, and we hope the world-class facilities and venues in Qatar will provide them with an inspiring glimpse of what their football careers hold for the future.”
Matthias Grafström, FIFA Secretary General, said: “The FIFA U-17 World Cup has proven to be an important launchpad for the next generation of the world’s best young footballers, who demonstrate exceptional skill and commitment.”
He added: “The new official tournament logo emphasizes team spirit, youthful boldness, distinctive strength, and optimism — all qualities that will be strongly present in November 2025. Qatar’s renowned ability to host FIFA events, along with its exceptional infrastructure and warm hospitality, will provide the perfect stage for this historic tournament.”
All 48 teams have already qualified for the largest-ever edition of the youth tournament, which has seen stars such as Luis Figo, Francesco Totti, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Neymar, and Phil Foden rise to fame.
A completely new format will be applied to the tournament, where Germany aims to defend the title they won in Indonesia 2023 by beating France on penalties in an exciting final.
