Doha, August 2, 2026:

The Ministry of Sports and Youth participated in the opening ceremony of the eighth edition of the “My Career… My Future 2026” program, organized by the Qatar Career Development Center from August 2 to 6, 2026, with the participation of 350 high school students. The program is part of national efforts to empower youth and enhance their awareness of educational and career pathways, helping prepare them for the demands of the labor market and the future.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Harmi, Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Affairs, emphasized that the Ministry views the program as part of a broader national initiative to develop human capital by preparing a generation that is aware of its capabilities, confident in its potential, capable of making informed decisions, and equipped to keep pace with future developments. He noted that the hands-on experiences and field visits included in the program provide youth with a genuine opportunity to discover their interests and explore a wide range of academic disciplines and career fields, enabling them to shape their future paths with confidence and clarity.

Mr. Al Harmi added that career guidance does not begin with choosing a profession; rather, it begins with self-awareness. He stressed that meaningful investment in youth is built on developing character, identifying talents, strengthening skills, and fostering self-confidence, enabling youth to make informed decisions about their future based on knowledge and awareness.

Addressing the participants, the Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Affairs encouraged them to make the most of every activity and meeting included in the program, saying: “Over the coming days, you will be exposed to a wide range of experiences and meet people from different fields. You may even discover something new about yourselves that you never knew before. Make the most of every meeting, every visit, and every question, because small experiences can sometimes lead to the biggest decisions in our lives.”

The “My Career… My Future 2026” program is one of the national initiatives aimed at promoting career guidance among high school students and providing them with firsthand exposure to diverse work environments, helping them make more informed educational and career choices in line with Qatar’s vision of investing in human capital and preparing future generations to lead the future.
