As part of Qatar’s firm commitment to empowering youth and enhancing their presence on the international stage, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized a graduation ceremony for the “Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations” program. The event was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Lusail, in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth; H.E. Eng. Yasser bin Abdullah Al-Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry; and representatives from partner entities involved in implementing the program.

The program received overwhelming interest from talented Qatari youth. A total of 52 young men and women were selected after a series of rigorous interviews, which revealed a high level of awareness, ambition, and cultural competence, as well as the ability to represent Qatar internationally with excellence.

The “Qatar Youth Delegates to the United Nations” program is a national strategic initiative that aims to prepare a generation of capable and qualified young Qataris to represent the country in the United Nations and its affiliated organizations. It reflects the Ministry’s commitment to expanding youth participation in decision-making and building a strong base of impactful youth representation in global forums.

During the ceremony, six outstanding graduates were announced as official youth delegates to represent Qatar at the United Nations. This selection was based on a comprehensive evaluation of their performance throughout the program, including their diplomatic skills, leadership, and communication abilities.

The Ministry emphasized that all graduates of the program will be given equal opportunities to participate and represent Qatar in various UN events and activities, reinforcing inclusivity and investment in national youth potential.

H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani highlighted Qatar’s deep commitment to youth empowerment, noting that the State provides an enabling environment for young people to become active partners in building the nation’s future—both nationally and internationally—through honorable representation on global platforms.

H.E. Eng. Yasser bin Abdullah Al-Jamal also praised the exceptional performance of the program participants, reaffirming the Ministry’s efforts to empower youth and equip them with the tools to contribute meaningfully on both local and international levels in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Mr. Thani Al-Misfir, Director of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized Qatar’s dedication to supporting youth across various sectors, stemming from a belief in their vital role in shaping sustainable and resilient societies.

The State of Qatar aims to strengthen youth presence in regional and international forums and promote their active involvement in the UN system, recognizing the value of multi-stakeholder cooperation as a key pillar of Qatar’s foreign policy.

Mr. Fawaz Al-Mosaferi, Director of Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, stated that the program is part of a series of initiatives led by the Ministry to build youth capacity and meet their aspirations amid global changes, contributing to sustainable development.

Mr. Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Director of the “Qatar Youth Delegates to the UN” program, expressed pride in the participation of outstanding Qatari youth in the initiative, noting the high level of engagement and the promising potential of the participants. He confirmed that the program will undergo a comprehensive evaluation to ensure continued development and expansion in future editions, while maintaining high output quality.

This program forms part of a national initiative that reflects Qatar’s belief in youth as a cornerstone of the nation’s future. It reinforces the country’s leading position in supporting and empowering youth on the global stage.
