The Ministry of Sports and Youth, represented by the Youth Affairs Administration, celebrated Arab Youth Day, which falls on the 5th of July every year, as approved by the Executive Office of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports during its 66th session, designating this date as the celebration of Arab Youth Day.

The purpose of this day’s celebration is to draw the attention of the Arab society to youth issues and to honor the capabilities of this segment as a vital partner in the development of the region’s communities.

The activities organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth included several events on this occasion, with the most prominent being the virtual gathering hosted by Qatari Youth Hostels in collaboration with their counterparts in several other Arab countries, bringing together a group of young people from each country.

Fatima Al Sulaiti, the Volunteer Officer at Qatari Youth Hostels, emphasized, through the virtual meeting that took place via the Zoom platform, the importance of youth as a vital force and a driving factor for change in communities. They represent the upcoming generation that will lead the future and face various challenges. Giving young people the opportunity and support to develop their skills and talents and enhancing their active participation in social and economic processes is vital to achieve progress and prosperity in Arab societies.

The gathering was themed “One Eid, Different Customs” and showcased the customs of each Arab country in celebrating Eid Al-Adha, highlighting the differences between the past and present. It was organized in cooperation with the Arab Federation of Youth Hostels with the participation of 22 representatives from participating Youth Hostels Associations.

In the same context, Qatari Youth Hostels, in collaboration with Dana Center for Girls, organized a panel discussion entitled “Yearly Occurrence (Arab Youth Day)”.
