The Ministry of Sports and Youth (MoSY), in collaboration with Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), will launch the third edition of the Get Ready program from 14–18 September 2025. Targeting high school students, the program provides academic and career guidance to help young people choose university majors and future pathways aligned with their interests, abilities, and labor market needs.
Held daily at Multaqa (Education City Student Center), the training is delivered under the supervision of MoSY’s Youth Development and Affairs Departments, with specialist trainers from QCDC. The program combines awareness-raising on career development with practical support that links students’ academic interests to their future aspirations and community engagement.
Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, Executive Director, QCDC, said: “Ensuring a smooth transition from high school to higher education is critical to holistic development and the future success of our youth. This program is a strategic step in that direction; it equips students to navigate a pivotal stage in their academic lives with confidence. Informed choices — aligned to interests, abilities, and motivations — lay the foundations for successful careers. As a joint initiative between MoSY and QCDC, Get Ready reflects our shared commitment to effective public–private collaboration to expand high-quality career guidance services for young people and embed a robust career culture across the community.”
Fawaz Al-Mesifri, Director of Youth Affairs at MoSY, said: “Get Ready empowers Qatari youth and builds their capabilities in line with the Ministry’s vision to nurture a responsible, engaged generation with a strong national ethos. The program raises awareness about choosing the right university major; introduces national and international universities and scholarship opportunities; and develops practical skills — such as crafting CVs and personal statements — that help young people participate effectively in society and the workforce.”
Across the five days, participants will explore core modules, including:
- Self-knowledge and personal skills.
- Workplace values and ethics.
- CV writing and personal statements.
- International universities and scholarship pathways.
- Building professional networks.
The third edition of Get Ready supports national efforts in building a high-quality education system and to enhance Qatar’s regional and international standing. It also underscores the partners’ shared commitment to investing in youth potential and equipping students with the academic and career skills needed to make sound study choices and contribute to the country’s future.
