Ministry of Sports and Youth and Ministry of Awqaf Advance to the Finals of the Ministries and Government Entities Futsal Championship

The teams of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs have qualified for the final of the 7th edition of the Ministries and Government Entities Futsal Championship. The final match will be held at Lusail Sports Hall next Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM, organized by the Qatar Federation for All Sports under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Prior to the final, the third-place match will take place at 6:00 PM between the Ministry of Municipality and the General Authority of Customs, following victories in the semifinals where the Ministry of Sports and Youth defeated the General Authority of Customs, and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs beat the Ministry of Municipality. These four teams had advanced from the group stage, which featured 10 teams from various ministries and government entities.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Federation for All Sports, emphasized that the championship represents a remarkable sporting gathering for employees of ministries and governmental institutions. He noted that the semifinals showcased intense competition, with both qualifying teams displaying exceptional performance, leading to their place in the highly anticipated final.

Al-Dosari highlighted that the championship featured high-scoring matches, reflecting an offensive style of play, while maintaining sportsmanship. He also pointed out that the tournament fostered cooperation and good relations among participants, supporting the broader objectives of corporate sports as a core element of the “Sports for All” initiative.

The championship offered employees an opportunity to practice football, interact with colleagues from other ministries, and strengthen social and professional ties, thereby achieving the event’s goals of promoting sports culture, encouraging physical activity, and contributing to the overall well-being of the community.

It is noteworthy that the participating entities in this edition of the futsal championship will earn 20 points, which will be counted towards the 2026 National Sports Day Award, to be announced during the upcoming celebrations.
