Qatar participated in the proceedings of the extraordinary meeting of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council, which was held today via video conferencing.

Qatar was represented at the meeting by Mr. Abdulrahman bin Muslim Al-Dosari, Advisor to HE Minister of Sports and Youth.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the ‘Arab Youth Strategy for Peace and Security,’ which is scheduled for launch later this year. Additionally, there were deliberations on a proposal to establish the Arab Youth Union.

The proposal for the Arab Youth Strategy for Peace and Security was presented by the Social Affairs Sector of the Arab League during the 46th session of the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council, which was held in March of the past year in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

It’s worth noting that the Arab Strategy for Peace and Security is the first of its kind in the Arab world and globally. Its objective is to promote cooperation for involving youth in peace and security issues and to develop national strategies on peace and security through an executive plan and a four-year timeline.

The Arab Youth and Sports Ministers Council aims to facilitate integration in the fields of youth and sports, coordinate the positions of Arab countries in regional and international youth and sports meetings and conferences, and oversee Arab sports events in collaboration with the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees.
