Doha:

Lusail Sports Hall is hosting the activities of the second round of the “Sport for All” Summer Camp for children, organized by the Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFA) under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, for boys and girls in the (7–11) age group, following the great success achieved by the first round, which witnessed the participation of approximately 640 boys and girls, in the presence of a number of parents and amid a distinguished family sporting atmosphere and a diverse range of camp activities.

The activities of the second round will continue, starting tomorrow morning, over a period of two weeks, from Monday to Thursday, through a comprehensive daily programme combining sports activities with educational, awareness and recreational programmes designed to develop children’s physical and mental skills, promote the spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and encourage them to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle during the summer vacation.

The summer camp extends over eight weeks, divided into four rounds, with each round lasting two weeks, during which a variety of activities are offered to meet children’s needs, including speed and strength exercises, movement games, mini football matches, Muay Thai self-defense training, stretching, flexibility and balance exercises, and table tennis, in addition to a series of educational and awareness programmes aimed at developing participants’ character and enhancing their skills.

Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, affirmed that the launch of the second round comes as a continuation of the success achieved by the first round, noting that the camp has become an important summer destination for children and families thanks to the integrated sports, educational and recreational programmes it offers, which contribute to making positive use of leisure time and developing participants’ abilities in a safe and motivating environment. He added that the second round will feature a diverse package of activities that enhance children’s vitality, strengthen their physical fitness, develop their motor abilities and social skills, and contribute to promoting the culture of community sports among different age groups.

The Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation said that the remarkable attendance and positive interaction reflect the growing confidence in the Federation’s summer programmes, which are designed to offer activities that combine benefit and enjoyment for children. He added that this community response provides a clear indication of the growing awareness of the importance of practicing sports for children and the need to invest the summer vacation in beneficial activities, promote physical activity and positive behavior, and benefit from participation in group activities through this camp, which has become a sporting, educational and recreational gathering for children during the summer.

The “Sport for All” Summer Camp is regarded as one of the most important events that plays a significant role in achieving the objectives of the “Sport for All Summer 2026” programme through a comprehensive range of sports and educational activities aimed at filling children’s leisure time during the summer vacation, developing their physical and social capabilities, and promoting the culture of physical activity as a way of life.
