In the presence of His Excellency Eng. Yasser bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the training course within the Gulf Youth Debates Program concluded, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, with the participation of a select group of youth from the member states, under the guidance of joint cooperation and constructive dialogue.
The program, which was held in Doha from October 19 to 24, 2025, witnessed distinguished interaction from the participants, who attended specialized workshops on the art of debating, building arguments, critical thinking skills, and persuasion, within a training environment that combined seriousness with the spirit of Gulf fraternity. The program also included field visits to a number of cultural and sports landmarks in the State of Qatar.
In his speech, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Kubaisi, Debate Trainer at the Qatar Debates Center, noted that the program witnessed rich interaction among Gulf youth, highlighting their ability to engage in constructive discussions and explore similarities and differences between their societies with openness and understanding. He emphasized that the event represents a genuine platform for empowering youth to develop dialogue and persuasion skills, expressing his hope that this experience will mark the beginning of a broader series of Gulf dialogue initiatives in the future.
For his part, Mr. Fawaz Abdullah Al-Musaifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department, praised the tangible successes achieved during the course, confirming that the program aligns with the National Youth Strategy, which aims to empower Gulf youth and provide platforms that develop their intellectual and leadership capabilities, in line with the GCC vision of investing in human capital and skill development. He also thanked Qatar Debates, the program’s executive partner, for the high-level support and training they provided.
Mr. Nasser Mohammed Al-Jabri, Event Director, expressed his pride in the positive atmosphere that prevailed during the course, noting that the educational and training objectives were achieved thanks to the participants’ commitment, constructive interaction, and the spirit of cooperation that characterized the program. He also thanked Qatar Youth Hubs for the accompanying tourism program, which enabled youth to enjoy sightseeing and exploratory tours of various landmarks in Qatar.
At the conclusion of the event, one of the youth participants expressed gratitude for experiencing a rich program that provided opportunities to refine public speaking and debating skills, and to meet friends from different Gulf countries united by a shared mission to serve their communities.
The organizing committee announced the successful conclusion of the program, confirming its ongoing support for youth initiatives that promote a culture of dialogue and reinforce the values of understanding and solidarity among the youth of the GCC countries.
