The Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has announced the extension of the Summer Sports for All 2025 program for an additional two weeks, with activities now set to conclude on August 21.
The decision came in response to parents who expressed their wish for their children to continue benefiting from the program’s diverse activities. Since its launch on June 23, the initiative has offered a rich schedule of sports, recreational, and awareness-raising events that have attracted boys and girls of all ages. Activities have been held across sports clubs, youth centers, swimming pools, and public parks, and have enjoyed strong participation from families across the country.
Now entering its seventh week, the program continues to focus on ensuring broad community involvement, with special attention given to school students. Highlights include swimming lessons, Muay Thai self-defense training, the 365 Days of Activity program for men and women in public parks, and the Children’s Summer Camp at Lusail Sports Arena. These initiatives aim to promote active lifestyles and instill healthy habits among children and young people.
The children’s camp has been particularly popular, welcoming participants aged 6 to 10 for four hours of daily activities from Sunday to Thursday. Families praised the camp for providing an enjoyable and safe environment, while children expressed their excitement at the wide variety of activities on offer. Sessions included football matches, speed and strength training, stretching and flexibility exercises, group challenges, and self-defense through Muay Thai, in addition to ongoing swimming lessons.
Executive Director Abdullah Al-Dosari emphasized that the summer program has achieved remarkable success, as reflected in the growing participation and enthusiasm of young people, as well as the strong support of parents. He explained that extending the program gives children more opportunities to enjoy meaningful activities, develop new skills, and prepare for the upcoming school year with energy, positivity, and a renewed motivation to learn.
Al-Dosari further highlighted that the diversity of activities has been the key to success, enabling the Federation to reach all segments of society and advance the goals of community sports. Supported by family engagement, the Summer Sports for All program embodies a comprehensive national vision to promote a culture of health and activity in Qatar. Through an integrated calendar of sports and recreational events, the program contributes to the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s strategy of building a healthier, more active community and enhancing the role of sports in improving quality of life.
