Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Youth Committee at Al Arabi Sports Club organized two valuable lectures as part of the club’s summer camp activities for 2025.
The first lecture, titled “Breathing Exercises,” was presented by Dr. Wafaa Mohammed from the Primary Health Care Corporation. The second lecture covered “Ablution: Pillars, Obligations, and Sunnah,” delivered by Sheikh Mohammed Ghanem, a preacher from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
The first lecture emphasized the importance of practicing breathing exercises, which contribute to improving overall health and relieving stress and anxiety. These exercises include deep breathing, pursed-lip breathing, and the (4-7-8) technique, aiming to regulate and slow breathing to calm the body and mind. The lecture highlighted the benefits of these exercises, such as reducing stress and anxiety, improving mood, enhancing relaxation, improving sleep quality, lowering blood pressure, improving cardiovascular health, and increasing body awareness and mindfulness. It also included practical advice on the most effective breathing exercises, how to perform them, appropriate times to practice, and recommended consulting a doctor to maximize benefits.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed Fathi Ghanem provided a detailed explanation and practical demonstration of ablution (wudu), performing its steps practically and shedding light on this important act of worship. He clarified its pillars, obligations, and Sunnah to enhance participants’ understanding and practice of this religious duty. He supported his explanation with Quranic verses and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The session also involved young participants practicing the ablution steps interactively in the main lecture hall of the club, with enthusiastic engagement from the attendees.
