The activities of the 2025 Summer Program for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) have been launched. The program is organized by the Qatar Society of Engineers in cooperation with the Qatar Scientific Club, with the generous support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and witnessed the participation of 42 young Qataris. The program will continue until August 13, 2025.
The initiative has attracted wide engagement from participants aged between 14 and 16 years, and during the first week included a series of interactive workshops conducted in collaboration with several entities, aiming to empower youth, enhance their creative thinking skills, and prepare them to execute innovative projects in the Qatar Scientific Club laboratories during the second week of the program.
On this occasion, Engineer Abdulrahman Saleh Khamees, Deputy Executive Director of the Qatar Scientific Club, expressed his pride in this partnership with the Qatar Society of Engineers, noting that such cooperation reflects the shared vision towards empowering Qatari youth in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. He emphasized that this program is not just a summer activity, but rather a practical embodiment of the club’s strategic role in supporting young people, enabling them to explore their abilities and develop their future skills.
Engineer Abdulrahman added: “We are proud of the remarkable success achieved since the launch of this program, both in terms of the positive interaction of the participants and the quality of the activities and projects carried out so far. This success reaffirms the importance of investing in STEM programs, which we consider a cornerstone for building national capacities, supporting the path of innovation, and advancing scientific research in Qatar.”
Engineer Saeed Hamad Al-Muhannadi, Member of the Qatar Society of Engineers, also stressed the Society’s belief in investing in young minds as the key path towards building a promising future for Qatar. He stated that this program reflects the Society’s vision to contribute to preparing the next generation of engineers and innovators, by supporting them through advanced training in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
He further explained that the Summer Program represents an important step towards promoting creativity, encouraging critical thinking, and enhancing teamwork skills among the youth, highlighting the great enthusiasm and commitment they have shown since the beginning of the program. Al-Muhannadi praised the Qatar Scientific Club for its valuable efforts in organizing this initiative and for its strong collaboration with the Society in ensuring its success.
The program aims to provide an advanced educational experience that helps participants develop their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, while fostering innovation and problem-solving through cooperative learning. It also seeks to provide a dynamic platform enabling youth to explore their potential and strengthen their passion for modern scientific disciplines.
The organizing entities emphasized that the program is aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, which places strong focus on human capital development and the transition to a knowledge-based economy. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Qatar Scientific Club and the Qatar Society of Engineers to empowering Qatari youth through innovative educational approaches based on experiential learning, practical application, and collective interaction.
