Doha – June 20, 2025
Today in the Qatari capital, Doha, the Gulf Youth Archery Championship kicked off, one of the main events of Gulf Youth Day 2025, with the participation of 60 archers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and in the presence of a distinguished group of youth leaders and decision-makers, in an atmosphere reflecting unity of purpose, sincere belonging, and deep-rooted shared Gulf identity.
Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Mr. Nawaf Al-Madhahka, Chairman of the Qatari Youth Council, opened the championship with a speech welcoming the participating delegations. He emphasized that this event is not merely a sports competition but a true embodiment of the role of Gulf youth in building the future by holding onto heritage while moving towards innovation and responsibility.

The organization of this championship coincides with a series of specialized Gulf youth workshops discussing topics such as entrepreneurship, mental health, and education, reaffirming that youth empowerment covers diverse development paths and is not limited to the sports domain only.
Additionally, 27 young individuals from various GCC countries participated in the 2025 Gulf Sports Excellence Award, aiming to highlight young talents and enhance the spirit of competition and achievement among Gulf youth.
These activities align with the vision of the GCC Secretariat General to strengthen joint Gulf cooperation in youth empowerment and support their participation in shaping a sustainable future while preserving authentic values and a united Gulf identity.
Qatar, the homeland of youth, creativity, and ambition, welcomes all Gulf youth on their special day and affirms its commitment to supporting every initiative that places youth at the heart of development.

Winner of the first place in the 2024 Gulf Youth Archery Championship. -

Winner of the Arab Swimming Championship and runner-up in an international horseback archery competition.
