Yesterday, the Gulf Youth Forum for Preparing Youth Leaders in Humanitarian Work, under the slogan “We Help and Support,” was launched. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and in partnership with Qatar Charity.

The forum brings together 25 young people from across the GCC countries. Its goal is to prepare them in the field of humanitarian and developmental work, providing an appropriate and motivating environment for developing and enhancing their capabilities in humanitarian work. The forum aims to empower youth to achieve positive change in their communities across the region.

**Topics Discussed at the Forum**
Mr. Nasser Al-Jabri, the head of the forum, said that the Youth Affairs Department has prepared everything necessary to ensure the forum’s success, hoping to achieve its set goals and desired outcomes. He added that this forum provides an opportunity for participating Qatari youth to enhance their abilities and develop their skills in humanitarian and developmental youth projects.

The forum’s agenda includes raising awareness and education by providing participants with the knowledge and skills needed in the field of humanitarian and developmental work. This is supplemented with personal development through training programs and workshops. Additionally, participants will have practical experience through opportunities for volunteering or participating in real humanitarian projects and initiatives.

The last focus is on networking and communication, aiming to build social and professional networks among youth and provide opportunities for collaboration and exchange of knowledge and expertise.

Mr. Fawaz Al-Mesifri, Director of Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, noted that the forum is organized in coordination with the General Secretariat of the GCC and in collaboration with Qatar Charity. It is divided into two parts: the theoretical section includes workshops on sustainable development goals in humanitarian work and the preparation of youth initiatives in this field. It also covers the nature of local and international humanitarian work, with program presenters from Qatar Charity responsible for training.

Al-Mesifri added that practical programs involving humanitarian activities will be organized in the evening sessions, wishing all participating youth success.

He also highlighted that the forum offers Qatari youth the chance to interact with their peers from other GCC countries, enhancing their skills to meet the ministry’s strategic goals and Qatar’s Vision 2030. He noted that the ministry is organizing this forum in cooperation with Qatar Charity, which is an expert in humanitarian work and is contributing through its specialists and programs.

Hassan Al-Shershni, head of the Qatari delegation participating in the forum, stated that the goal is to prepare young leaders at the Gulf level through such forums. He expressed hope that this first forum would benefit the youth and help them realize the importance of volunteerism and humanitarian and developmental work.

He also mentioned that the Ministry of Sports and Youth plays a significant role in supporting youth in these areas related to youth and humanitarian issues.

Ms. Mai Yaqoub Al-Hashash, Head of Supervision and Follow-up in the Volunteer Work Department at the Public Authority for Youth in Kuwait, said: “We are honored to participate in the Gulf Youth Forum for Preparing Youth Leaders in Humanitarian Work, which is one of the most important forums for youth. In Kuwait, we welcome such ideas that positively impact our youth and Gulf countries.”

Mohammed Ali Al-Farsi, head of the Omani delegation, stated that Oman is participating with five young people in the forum held in Qatar under the slogan “We Help and Support,” adding that such meaningful participation brings joy. Al-Farsi emphasized the importance of forums focused on youth initiatives in volunteerism and humanitarian work.

On Sunday, as part of the forum’s activities, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ghamdi delivered a session titled “General Introduction to Understanding the Humanitarian Sector and its Legal and Financial Framework.” That same evening, youth participated in distributing winter kits to workers at Shuwaikh Port.
