The National Sports Day Committee, under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has announced the guidelines and requirements that all government and private entities must follow when organizing events for Qatar’s National Sports Day 2025. These measures aim to ensure the success of all activities and achieve the primary objective of National Sports Day: raising awareness about the importance of physical activity across all age groups.

The committee emphasized that all ministries, government agencies, public institutions, and private sector entities must submit their programs and plans for National Sports Day 2025, along with an estimated number of participants, to the Joint Committee for National Sports Day by Sunday, January 5, 2025. This will allow the committee sufficient time to review and approve the submissions. Organizations must also complete the event registration form available on the official National Sports Day website.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, a member of the National Sports Day Committee, praised the entities that have already submitted their planned activities. He urged other organizations to promptly provide their proposed events so they can be evaluated, approved, and published early to inform the public. He emphasized the importance of distributing activities across the country, including the northern, southern, and central regions of Doha, to maximize public participation in sports activities held in parks and open spaces.

Al-Dosari stressed that National Sports Day plays a vital role in enhancing public health and physical activity. He also announced that, for the first time, the Ministry of Sports and Youth has launched the “National Sports Day Award.” Running from October 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025, the award targets employees in government, semi-government, and private sectors. It aims to foster positive competition among institutions and encourage them to promote a healthy and active work environment by ensuring consistent physical activity throughout the year.
