Al Dana Girls Center, a partner of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, celebrated Qatar National Day through a special event. The program included a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, the national anthem, a speech by the Head of Al Dana Center, a poetry recital, a national performance titled “I Am Qatari,” honoring participants and organizers, competitions (Qatar in Numbers), a mothers’ competition (folk proverbs in numbers), and the distribution of gifts to participating entities.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the event host, Aisha Hassan Behzad, welcomed the attendees, saying: “It gives me great pleasure and honor, on behalf of Al Dana Girls Center, to celebrate today the story of a nation that built its glory through its wise leadership, the efforts of its sons and daughters, and deeply rooted values passed down from generation to generation.”
She explained that the program carried messages of love and pride in the homeland, showcased distinguished examples of creativity by the girls of Al Dana Center, and reflected the sincere affection everyone holds for this dear nation.
For her part, Ms. Wadha Nasser Al Jaber, Head of Al Dana Girls Center, said: “Today we celebrate an occasion that is dear to all our hearts—Qatar National Day—a day on which we draw inspiration from the achievements of our ancestors and remember the journey of a nation we love, a day when the Founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani (may he rest in peace), laid the foundations of our modern state.”
She added: “On this occasion, I cannot help but recall the words of the Founder that embody determination and resolve: ‘We marched, and God guided us; He supported us, and no matter how great the hardships and blame, we were not deterred.’ These words are not merely poetry; they are a legacy etched in our hearts, affirming that unity and solidarity are the foundation of our strength.”
She continued:
“Every corner of Qatar bears witness to the renaissance and transformations that have shaped our present. Qatar has grown from a regional power into a global force across various fields, thanks to the wise and prudent leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the country, may God protect him.”
She noted that the slogan “Through you it rises, and from you it awaits” affirms that the Qatari people are the nation’s greatest investment, and that love of the nation is a duty that motivates us to protect it, defend it, contribute to its development, and raise its name high. On this glorious day, she said, the nation renews its pledge of loyalty to its wise leadership and reaffirms its commitment to continuing the path of development and progress.
She emphasized that the celebration reflects the depth of belonging and pride in Qatar’s history, the determination to move forward along the path of the Founder, concluding with: “May you always remain glorious, O homeland, and may the flag of Qatar forever fly high.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Sakina Al Mo’min, Head of the Activities Department, stated that National Day is an occasion to recall the meanings of pride and belonging, renew loyalty to the homeland and leadership, and reaffirm the role of Al Dana Girls Center in instilling values of good citizenship and strengthening the spirit of responsibility and giving among its girls, so they may become active contributors to building Qatar’s present and bright future. She concluded by praying that God preserve Qatar with security and stability, and keep its flag raised high through the strength of its people.
