Under the partnership of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation launches this evening, Tuesday, the 15th edition of the Neighborhood Football Tournament, held at the Ain Khaled neighborhood pitches, with the participation of 16 teams divided into four groups.

The opening round features four matches: Al Wukair vs Sharq at 5:30 PM, followed by Al Shamal vs Al Khisah at 6:10 PM. The third match brings together Al Wakrah and Shabab Al Nasr at 7:00 PM, while the day concludes with Al Shaqab vs Madinat Khalifa at 7:40 PM.

The federation also held a press conference yesterday at Lusail Sports Hall, attended by Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, representatives of participating teams, and media outlets, where the tournament draw was conducted.

The draw divided the 16 teams (comprising 160 players) into four groups: Group 1 includes Al Wukair, Sharq, Al Shamal, and Al Khisah; Group 2 includes Al Wakrah, Shabab Al Nasr, Shaqab, and Madinat Khalifa; Group 3 includes Al Aziziyah, Umm Qarn, Al Luwaynah, and Al Jisrah; and Group 4 includes Rois, Al Nasr, Al Rahib, and Al Hilal.

Al-Dosari announced the launch of the new Ain Khaled edition, noting its importance following the full return of sports activities after the exceptional suspension period. He highlighted that this edition marks the first time the tournament is hosted at Ain Khaled pitches, which are located away from residential areas and provide an ideal environment for a distinctive competition.

He added that the federation aims to organize 12 tournaments this year as part of its broader plan to expand sports participation and diversify activities. The Neighborhood Tournaments play a key role in promoting sports culture and raising awareness of physical activity, attracting strong participation and competitive spirit among youth teams aged 16 and above.

He further explained that the 18 neighborhood pitches across the country serve as an accessible community sports platform, offering opportunities for daily physical activity, informal matches, and organized competitions. These venues form a core part of the federation’s annual calendar, which includes around 850 events.

The Neighborhood Football Tournament continues to be one of the federation’s flagship initiatives, designed to strengthen community engagement in sports, encourage physical activity, and provide a structured competitive environment for football enthusiasts across Qatar.
