The Al Furjan Tournament is played in a single-round group stage format. Each match consists of two halves of 15 minutes, with a 5-minute break in between. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage. Each team fields seven players, with a requirement for at least three Qatari players on the field at all times. The tournament’s regulations allow teams to register and add any Qatari player before the match to encourage more participants and enrich the Al Furjan football grounds, making them a sports hub within residential neighborhoods.
The 12th edition of the Al Furjan Tournament in Al Thumama features 16 teams divided into four groups. Group A includes Halul, Al-Dhaayen, Al-Hilal, and Al-Maida. Group B consists of Khalifa City, Ain Khaled, Unaizah, and Umm Salal. Group C features Al Wakra, Al-Dhaayen 2, Al-Sakhama, and Al Thumama. Group D comprises Al-Labib, Al-Nasr, Al-Mamoura, and Al-Owaina.
The Al Furjan Tournament series has been popular among young people, with the number of participating teams increasing with each edition. The tournament provides Qatari and resident youth from various neighborhoods with the opportunity to showcase their football talents through participation in this sports and community event. The Sports for All Federation is committed to organizing the tournament regularly as part of its comprehensive and diverse annual calendar, which includes 720 sports and community events this year.
