The Qatar Sport for All Federation, under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has announced the opening of registration for the 2025 Summer Track Race Series, which will feature four races held in September at exceptional indoor and outdoor venues. These events promise participants an energetic and lively atmosphere, welcoming all age groups, including men, women, and children.
The race series will begin with three events at Aspire on September 5, 12, and 19, followed by the grand finale at Oxygen Park on September 26, offering a unique blend of entertainment and sports.
These races are part of the Sport for All Summer Program 2025, which continues to deliver diverse activities in stadiums, halls, sports clubs, youth centers, public parks, and schools, with the participation of public and private institutions. The program aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage sports participation, especially among children and school students during their summer break.
The track races will follow an open-timing format with various time categories:
- 15 and 30 minutes for adults aged 17 and above
- 10 minutes for juniors aged 7 to 17
- 5 minutes for children aged 3 to 6
This diversity ensures opportunities for the widest possible participation. Winners will be determined by completing the highest number of laps within the allotted time, ensuring a fair and inclusive competition for all.
At Aspire, general category races will start at 7:00 a.m., while women’s races will begin at 9:00 a.m. For the final race at Oxygen Park, the general category will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the women’s race at 7:30 p.m., offering an enjoyable experience for participants in comfortable and suitable conditions.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sport for All Federation, emphasized that the Summer Track Race Series has become an important platform for encouraging family participation in sports activities. The races enjoy strong support and attendance from families, helping promote sports as a lifestyle that brings people together in an atmosphere of energy and vitality. He noted that the races are held in climate-controlled venues that motivate participants to stay active, forming part of the Federation’s ongoing effort to increase the number of people engaging in sports and make these races a regular part of daily life for community members.
Al-Dosari added that the series continues the Federation’s vibrant summer program, rich with sports and recreational events designed to fill children’s free time during the summer holiday with fun and beneficial activities. This aligns with the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s goals and plans to spread a culture of sports participation through more attractive, purposeful activities and programs that inspire the community to engage positively with sports and community events.
