As part of its summer programs, and under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Al-Dana Girls Center organized an awareness workshop titled “Environmental Guardians”, led by trainer Miead Al-Jassim, and directed to girls aged 10 to 12.
The workshop aimed to empower participants with a deeper understanding of their role in protecting the environment, by introducing them to proper environmental practices and encouraging a sense of responsibility towards natural resources. It also highlighted the importance of recycling and promoted the principle of sustainability in waste management. In addition, the workshop simplified key environmental laws and regulations in a way that suited the girls’ age group.
To make the program more engaging and enjoyable, it was designed as two complementary sessions. The first session focused on the concept of recycling and the importance of conserving resources, while the second shed light on Qatar’s environmental challenges and the national laws in place to protect the environment. The girls were also introduced to suitable ways to raise awareness and adopt environmentally friendly habits.
The program included hands-on activities, interactive experiments, and group discussions that helped bring ideas to life in an enjoyable and motivating way—encouraging active participation from the girls and effective engagement with the topics presented.
