Under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Environmental Friends Center organized a seminar on the role of Arab youth in environmental volunteer work, attended by a large number of young men and women.

During the seminar, the youth shared several personal experiences in volunteer work, demonstrating their spirit of giving and dedication to preserving the environment. They highlighted the excellent efforts they made during their personal experiences, noting that volunteer work is a unique experience that leaves deep positive impacts on both the individual and the community.

Ms. Zainab Al-Shammari, Head of Events and Programs at the Environmental Friends Center, stated that volunteer work is one of the fundamental pillars of advanced societies. The importance of volunteer work lies in its vital role in promoting social solidarity and building a strong and cohesive community. It also contributes to improving the quality of life for individuals and communities by providing support and assistance, whether through offering health and educational services, contributing to environmental preservation, or organizing community events.

She explained that the seminar reviewed a range of personal experiences of several Arab youth in the field of volunteer work, which helped enhance the personal skills of the participants, such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. It also provided them with an opportunity to expand their social networks and meet people from various backgrounds and cultures, as well as boost their sense of satisfaction and happiness from helping others and making a positive change in the community.

Al-Shammari pointed out that volunteer work plays a significant role in promoting the values of citizenship and belonging. It builds a bridge of understanding and cooperation among different members of society, highlighting that it is not just a secondary activity but an essential part of building a healthy and advanced society that relies on combined efforts, social solidarity, and achieving sustainable development and well-being for all.

The participants in the seminar confirmed that volunteer work is an opportunity for personal development. It enhances the value of selfless giving, emphasizes the importance of teamwork, and demonstrates how each individual can have a positive impact, no matter how small. Additionally, it serves as a bridge for fostering understanding and communication among various segments of society through interaction with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
