The teams of the Ministry of Municipality, Ministry of Sports and Youth, Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, and the General Authority of Customs qualified for the semifinals of the seventh edition of the “Sports for All” Ministries and Authorities Indoor Football Championship 2025, organized by the Qatar “Sports for All” Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth at Lusail Sports Hall. The semifinals ignite the competition to reach the final match, with the first semifinal taking place tonight between the Endowments and Islamic Affairs team and the Municipality team at 7:00 PM, followed by the second match between the Ministry of Sports and Youth team and the General Authority of Customs team at 8:00 PM.
The semifinal teams of the Ministries and Authorities Championship demonstrated strong performances over more than nine rounds throughout a full month, paving the way for their entry into the semifinals. The challenges continued through the quarterfinals held the day before yesterday, Monday, which witnessed intense competition, full of excitement and enthusiasm, reflecting the high technical level of the participating teams. The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs achieved a big victory over the Public Works Authority team with a 4-0 score, while the Ministry of Municipality defeated the Ministry of Justice 6-0. The General Authority of Customs advanced after defeating the Social Development and Family team 2-0 in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw in regular time, while the Sports and Youth team won against the Ministry of Interior 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regular time.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar “Sports for All” Federation, confirmed that the championship achieves its objectives by engaging employees of ministries, authorities, and institutions in “Sports for All” activities and contributing to spreading the culture of sports by providing more opportunities for different members of society to practice physical activity. The Executive Director praised the competitive spirit shown by all participants throughout the tournament, noting that it contributes to achieving the goal of fostering a sports-practicing society. He added that organizing the championship reflects the federation’s commitment to supporting government and private entities’ efforts in promoting physical activity among their employees, helping create a more active and vibrant work environment.
It is noteworthy that the participating entities in this edition of the Ministries and Authorities Indoor Football Championship will receive 20 points, which will be counted toward the State Sports Day Award 2026, to be announced alongside the State Sports Day events.
