Education and Sports Launch “School Innovation Incubators” Initiative
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Qatar Scientific Club, supported by the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund, launched the “School Innovation Incubators” initiative. The launch event was held at the Qatar Scientific Club, attended by Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth, senior officials, and partner representatives.
The initiative aims to create an educational environment fostering innovation and scientific thinking by equipping students with skills in science, technology, and research to prepare them for contributing to a knowledge-based and sustainable national economy.
The incubators are established in eight government schools across Qatar, featuring specialized labs in digital manufacturing, 3D printing, robotics, artificial intelligence, electronics, and communications. These spaces include design and project implementation areas, along with advanced technical libraries, enabling students to transform ideas into practical prototypes. The Qatar Scientific Club supervises the facilities and provides technical training for school staff.
The launch included a panel discussion, a video presentation of joint projects, and recognition of schools and partners. Students showcased their innovative projects, demonstrating the impact of the incubators. The event concluded with a group photo celebrating this milestone.
The organizers emphasized the initiative as a practical step integrating education with innovation, strengthening schools as true laboratories of ideas, and preparing confident, productive generations aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Parents wishing to enroll their children in innovation programs can visit the “Ma’arif” portal under summer clubs on the Ministry of Education’s website and select the “Innovation Program” from available activities.
