Under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Al Khor Girls Center is currently hosting an intensive summer activity program, featuring various events. These activities, which began on July 2 and will continue until August 7, are being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Ms. Janaa Jassim Al Marrihi, the Executive Director of Al Khor Girls Center, stated that the program includes a summer camp held during the morning at Al Khor Primary School for Girls. The camp is open to center members aged 6 to 17 and offers a variety of activities, ranging from sports and culture to art workshops, agriculture, identity, and heritage, in addition to several innovative workshops. She also mentioned that many organizations are participating in the camp, including the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the ministry’s mobile library, which was present for a full week, as well as the Simaisma and Al Daayen Youth Centers and their affiliated girls’ gathering, along with the Environmental Friends Center.

The agricultural workshops have seen collaboration from several other organizations, including the Aman Center, which offered a workshop titled “How to Protect Myself,” and the Juvenile Police, which presented a workshop titled “A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed.” The Qatar Chess Federation also conducted another workshop. Ms. Juma Al Marrihi highlighted that several trainers have been delivering other workshops as part of the summer camp, covering various specialized topics, which positively impacted the events and contributed to their notable success, as well as creating significant engagement among the participants.

She noted that the activities included contributions from several girls who volunteered in managing and supervising the workshops, as well as in photography and other tasks. She emphasized that the camp is ongoing, providing an opportunity for more girls to participate, and welcoming new attendees. Ms. Al Marrihi confirmed that this is the first time the Al Khor Girls Center has hosted a morning summer camp of this duration, with participation from different age groups.
