Under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Friends of the Environment Center organized a dialogue session titled “Youth on the Road and Values”. The session targeted school students, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of following traffic rules and etiquette, while also promoting ethical values in dealing with the road as a shared space for all its users.

The workshop sought to instill traffic awareness among young people, encouraging them to adopt positive behaviors that ensure their safety and the safety of others, while reinforcing noble social values that reflect on their daily lives.

During the session, First Lieutenant Mr. Mishaal Ali Al-Ghdaid, from the Traffic Awareness Department, emphasized that the road is not merely a passage for movement, but rather a shared space that requires responsibility and discipline. He stated: “Adhering to traffic etiquette, respecting signals, and giving priority to pedestrians reflects our values and ethics, even before it protects our safety. We believe that today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders, and their commitment to proper road behavior sends a civilizational message about their awareness and belonging to society.”

Also participating in the session was Islamic preacher Dr. Ayish Al-Qahtani, who stressed that ethical values are an integral part of one’s commitment to the law. He noted: “A person’s behavior on the road reflects their inner faith and morals. Religion urges us to respect others, preserve their rights, and avoid harming them. By abiding by traffic regulations, we are applying one of Islam’s greatest values: protecting lives and safeguarding souls.”

The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of collaboration between traffic safety authorities, educational institutions, and religious bodies to raise youth awareness on following traffic guidelines from both an educational and moral perspective.
