The courts of the Westin Doha Hotel and Resort witnessed the final round of the inaugural “Sports for All” Squash Championship, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth. The concluding matches were held last Thursday evening in a vibrant, enthusiastic, and festive atmosphere, marking the end of 18 days of fierce competition.

The final scene of the first edition of the tournament featured strong participation from squash enthusiasts, who found in this championship a great opportunity to practice and enjoy their favorite sport.

Following the conclusion of the matches, Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, crowned the top three winners, awarding them medals and cash prizes in both the first and second levels.

  • Ali Mansour claimed victory in the first level, defeating his rival Sameeullah Sajid in the final.

  • Rizwan Raza won the second level, overcoming Ali Durrani in their final match.

In addition, appreciation vouchers were presented to several participants in recognition of their outstanding performance and sportsmanship, in an atmosphere that reflected the success of the tournament and the high level of competition. Participants across various age groups displayed strong technical skills and impressive capabilities.

Al-Dosari praised the success of the first edition of the “Sports for All” Squash Championship, appreciating the fruitful collaboration with Westin Hotel. He affirmed that the tournament is a valuable addition to the 2025 Sports for All activities and events, highlighting the Federation’s commitment to diversifying its sports and recreational programs throughout the year.

He noted that the strong participation from squash fans and the enthusiastic presence over more than two weeks underscore the importance and necessity of holding such tournaments. These events help promote sports practice and embed it more deeply in daily life as a lifestyle.

Al-Dosari added that the success of this inaugural edition strengthens the championship’s place in the Federation’s annual calendar and sets a strong foundation for future editions. The tournament successfully blended competition with entertainment and was well-received across the board, representing a fruitful outcome of the cooperation between the Qatar Sports for All Federation and the Westin Doha Hotel and Resort.

The tournament was played in a round-robin league format, with players competing in two levels:

  • The first level was divided into two groups with eight players.

  • The second level included four groups with a total of 16 players.

This format allowed players to compete in multiple matches across various rounds, adding a strong competitive edge and establishing squash as a new addition to the annual Sports for All calendar.
