In partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation has signed a cooperation agreement with Doha Festival City Mall to enhance collaboration and coordination in organizing community sports programs and events, promoting a culture of sports, and encouraging various segments of society to engage in physical activity. The agreement comes as part of ongoing efforts to expand community participation in sporting activities.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, and Mr. Torol Komtur, Director of Asset Management at Doha Festival City Mall.

The agreement includes cooperation in organizing and hosting joint sports programs and events, utilizing Doha Festival City’s facilities to host sporting activities, launching awareness campaigns to promote sports and health culture, encouraging mall visitors to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle, as well as exchanging expertise and coordinating the implementation of sports initiatives that achieve the objectives of both parties and strengthen the concept of Sports for All.

Mr. Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stated that the agreement is an extension of the successful partnership with Doha Festival City, particularly in organizing the “Mall Steps Challenge”, a 5,000-step walking challenge held as part of the Sports for All Summer Program 2026, which continues for three months.

He added that the partnership also includes the running and walking activities with running groups, which are held weekly and have already attracted more than 500 participants, with registration still open for additional participants through the Sports for All application.

Al Dosari explained that cooperation with Doha Festival City represents an important step toward expanding the scope of community sports events and benefiting from the mall’s facilities, which attract large numbers of visitors from different segments of society. This supports the federation’s goal of reaching the widest possible audience and launching quality sports programs suitable for different age groups, while strengthening the role of sports as one of the pillars supporting Qatar National Vision 2030.

He noted that the Steps Challenge begins at 7:00 a.m., before the mall opens to shoppers, ensuring a suitable and safe environment for participants without affecting commercial activity inside the mall. He emphasized that the federation continues to work with various national entities and institutions to develop sports initiatives and organize events that encourage community members to practice sports regularly during the summer season, particularly through indoor and air-conditioned facilities.

Mr. Torol Komtur, Director of Asset Management at Doha Festival City, expressed his happiness with the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Qatar Sports for All Federation, emphasizing the mall’s commitment to supporting community and sports initiatives in Qatar that promote health and physical activity.

He noted that this partnership will enable the organization of various sports events and awareness programs inside the mall, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and enhancing the mall’s role in serving the community. He described the cooperation with the federation as an important addition that will contribute to implementing innovative sports initiatives through joint programs, community sporting events, awareness campaigns, and the use of the mall’s facilities to host sports activities.

He also expressed his appreciation for the Qatar Sports for All Federation’s participation in the events held at Doha Festival City.
