Under the patronage of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Qatar Youth Hostels held their closing ceremony for the 2025 summer programs on the evening of Saturday, September 27, at the Grand Holiday Villa Hotel. The event was attended by H.E. Engineer Yasser Al-Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and Mr. Omar Al-Jaber, Head of the Tourism Development Sector.

The ceremony honored participants in the summer programs and activities, as well as a group of outstanding volunteers whose efforts contributed to the success of the season’s initiatives.

Mr. Abdullah Saeed, Head of Public Relations and Communications at Qatar Youth Hostels, emphasized that Summer 2025 marked a significant milestone for the organization. A total of 18 volunteers led the implementation of 13 summer programs and camps, benefiting over 235 participants. He stated:

“We believe in the role of youth in driving community engagement and taking responsibility. Our goal is to empower them and prepare them to become the future leaders in managing programs and activities.”

The event also featured the graduation ceremony for participants of the fourth edition of the Tourist Guide Training Program, delivered in partnership with Qatar Tourism. Notably, the program celebrated the graduation of the first-ever cohort of deaf tour guides, setting a new benchmark in inclusive development and community integration.

In her remarks at the conclusion of the ceremony, Ms. Fatima Al-Sulaiti, Head of Programs and Events at Qatar Youth Hostels, said:

“Every year, we are proud to celebrate the graduates of our training and practical programs in recognition of their dedication and hard work. This year, we take particular pride in the graduation of the first tourist guides from the deaf community—a milestone for inclusivity in 2025.”

“We also celebrate the graduates of the Applied Summer Activity Management Training Program, and the inaugural cohort of the Youth Tourist Guide Program, which included 19 young men and women who received intensive training in tourism guiding skills.”

She extended her gratitude to the field experts and trainers, as well as the national partner organizations whose support was instrumental to the success of the programs. These included:

Al-Sulaiti emphasized that this broad collaboration played a pivotal role in achieving the program’s goals and delivering impactful community engagement.
