The Aspire Indoor Running Track witnessed a new round of the Sports for All race, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, as part of the summer program in cooperation with Aspire Zone. The race saw the participation of 60 boys and girls aged 6 to 12, in an atmosphere full of fun and energy. Families were present in large numbers to cheer on the children. The race started at 9:00 AM the day before yesterday and lasted for two hours until 11:00 AM, covering two distances: 800 meters and 1 kilometer, with multiple rounds held during the event.
Alongside the race, a variety of sports and recreational activities were organized for the participating children, adding a special touch to the event. These activities included archery, speedball, and bodyweight exercises, aiming to diversify and enrich the experience, offering children enjoyable and beneficial moments.
The children’s race is part of the “Summer Sports for All 2025” program, which continues its activities across stadiums, sports halls, clubs, youth centers, public parks, and schools, with participation from many entities representing ministries, institutions, authorities, and commercial centers. The summer program runs until August 7th and aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage individuals and community groups, especially children and students, to continue practicing sports during the summer vacation.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, praised the participation in the race, emphasizing that the turnout of children and their families reflects the community’s keenness to engage in running, which has become one of the key means of promoting sports participation among a wide segment of society.
Al-Dosari described track running races as a lively platform that enhances family involvement in sports activities. He highlighted the children’s race for its strong family presence and encouragement, noting that this positively impacts the establishment of sports as a lifestyle. Such events bring families together in an atmosphere of vitality and activity. He also pointed out that the Sports for All races on the track provide air-conditioned, suitable spaces that motivate participants to continue joining running races, which the federation regularly organizes throughout the year and that cater to all segments of society. These efforts come within the federation’s mission to increase the number of people practicing sports, making these races part of the daily routine of the community.
The Executive Director of Sports for All confirmed that the children’s race at the track is an extension of the summer activities packed with many sports and recreational events designed to fill children’s free time during the summer holidays with fun and beneficial experiences. This aligns with the goals and plans of the Ministry of Sports and Youth to spread the culture of sports practice by introducing more purposeful and attractive activities and programs that encourage the community to positively engage with various sports and social activities.
