The swimming pools of Al Arabi Sports Club are witnessing the eighth week of the summer swimming training program, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the representation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth. This program comes as part of the fourth and final stage of Summer Sports for All 2025, which delivers a wide range of sports activities and training sessions across sports halls, youth centers, schools, and public parks, with the participation of 28 ministries, institutions, and other partners. While targeting all segments of society, the initiative gives special attention to children and school students, in line with a broader vision to spread the culture of community sports throughout the summer season.

The swimming program, designed for children aged 7 to 12, has drawn increasing interest since its launch on June 23 at Al Arabi Sports Club, Al Wakrah, and Al Jumeiliya Youth Center. Children have been learning the fundamentals of swimming and developing their skills in safe and enjoyable environments under the supervision of qualified trainers, while gaining confidence and having fun in the water.

Mr. Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, described this year’s program as exceptional, pointing to the remarkable turnout and enthusiasm. He announced that the Federation had extended the program for an additional two weeks in response to parents’ requests, in order to give children greater opportunities to benefit from training and to allow families more time to invest in their children’s health and summer experiences.

Al-Dosari emphasized that the strong engagement of families and the children’s excitement reflect the program’s success—not only in teaching swimming skills, but also in creating a sporting and educational environment that develops children’s energy, strengthens their fitness, and encourages them to adopt a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

He noted that the intensive sessions held at Al Arabi Sports Club from Sunday to Wednesday, between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. for boys, under the supervision of certified trainers, provide an ideal way to make use of the summer holiday by learning swimming basics, improving physical fitness, and encouraging healthy habits, supported by families who are keen to involve their children in sports from an early age.

He further explained that the program, held over eight weeks in swimming pools of sports clubs and youth centers, continues to fulfill the Federation’s mission of spreading community sports, nurturing young talents, and preparing a confident generation capable of facing future challenges in an atmosphere full of fun and benefit.

What makes this summer swimming program unique, which runs for three months, is that it goes beyond teaching basic swimming skills. It provides a comprehensive sporting and educational setting designed to develop promising talents, build a strong and distinguished generation, and offer boys and girls meaningful ways to spend their summer holidays. Swimming, a sport widely embraced by families, has become a key element in achieving the Federation’s vision of embedding and strengthening a culture of sports in Qatari society.
