In celebration of the International Humanitarian Day, the Ministry of Sports and Youth organized a panel discussion titled “Humanitarian Work as a Shared Responsibility.” The seminar was held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at “Maison Layan” Café – Place Vendome Mall, with broad participation from youth and individuals interested in the humanitarian field. The event highlighted the role of social responsibility in enhancing this work, alongside focusing on the role of youth in human development and participation in volunteer initiatives.

The seminar included lectures delivered by experts and activists in the humanitarian field, focusing on the importance and diversity of humanitarian services. Discussions also centered around the key contexts in which images can be used. The significance of the youth’s role in supporting humanitarian work and promoting sustainable development was emphasized, as their active participation contributes to building a more cohesive and collaborative society.

The ministry urges the promotion of volunteerism and humanitarian efforts among the youth, while providing the necessary support to enhance their skills and contributions.

Hind Saqr, Director of Public Relations and Communications at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, stated, “The global celebration of International Humanitarian Day is a tribute to every effort made in the service of humanity and our fellow humans.

She pointed out that the ministry consistently encourages humanitarian work by preparing and equipping youth leaders in this sector, in addition to supporting initiatives and activities that instill the value of volunteering among the youth, serving communities, and facilitating the provision of diverse humanitarian services.

She appreciated the Qatari youth for their readiness to contribute and serve humanity wherever they are, a willingness that stems from the customs, traditions, and ethics of the society they live in.”

On his part, Ali Al-Suwaidi, a coach in social entrepreneurship and community responsibility, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the ministry for organizing the seminar and highlighting the importance of humanitarian work. The seminar is part of a series of events and activities organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, aiming to enhance awareness and positive participation of youth in social and humanitarian issues.
