The competitions of the Aspire Beach Sports Festival 2025 in football, volleyball, and tennis launched on the sandy field at Aspire Park on Sunday evening. The event was attended by Abdulrahman bin Muslim Al-Dosari, Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth and Chairman of the Qatar Sports for All Federation; Nasser Abdullah Al-Hajri, Chief Marketing Officer at Aspire; Hamad Yousef Al-Obaidly, Executive Director of Communication and Public Relations at Aspire Foundation; Ahmed Mohammed Al-Hassan, Executive Director of Facilities and Events at the foundation and tournament director; Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation; and Fahad Ahmed Al-Mana, Communications Director at the foundation.
The festival is organized by Aspire Zone in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Sports for All Federation, and the football, volleyball, and tennis federations. The event features a selection of athletes aged 18 and above and will continue until next Saturday.
The opening day saw exciting matches in both football and beach volleyball. In the football competitions, Al-Nasr team achieved a resounding victory over Al-Shahaniya with a score of 5-1, while the Shabab Doha team defeated Al-Awaina with a large margin of 8-1. Al-Ittihad Doha also won against La’beeb 4-1.
In the beach volleyball matches, the first round witnessed thrilling challenges, with the Police Union team beating Madinat Khalifa in straight sets (2-0), Simaisma team defeating Al-Mirqab by the same score, and Al-Nasr team prevailing over Shabab Al-Ain with a 2-0 score.
The tournament continues on Tuesday evening with three beach football matches: the first at 6:20 PM between Madinat Khalifa and Ittihad Doha, followed by Hazm Al-Markhiya versus Al-Nasr at 7:27 PM, and concluding with Tsunami facing Al-Awaina at 8:28 PM.
Additionally, two beach volleyball matches are scheduled for Tuesday: Police Union versus Simaisma at 7:15 PM, and MK 47 against Shabab Al-Ain at 8:20 PM.
The beach football tournament features nine teams divided into three groups: Group One includes Al-Shahaniya, Al-Nasr, and Hazm Al-Markhiya; Group Two includes Shabab Doha, Al-Awaina, and Tsunami; Group Three consists of La’beeb, Ittihad Doha, and Madinat Khalifa.
In beach volleyball, Group One comprises MK 47, Police Union, and Madinat Khalifa, while Group Two includes Simaisma, Shabab Al-Ain, and Al-Nasr.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, expressed his happiness with the strong start of the festival and the excellent organizational atmosphere. He extended his thanks to Aspire Foundation for organizing this distinguished edition and emphasized that the event aims to promote a culture of sports participation in society. He also highlighted the importance of partnership with all agencies and organizations to optimally utilize available sports facilities and organize more diverse community events, thereby helping to embed a culture of sports practice among all members of society.
