Barzan Youth Center, in collaboration with Umm Salal Municipality, launched the “Commitment and Impact” initiative as part of its community programs aimed at fostering a culture of social responsibility and promoting environmental and health awareness by engaging youth in spreading the concepts of public cleanliness and compliance with health requirements in commercial establishments, restaurants, and markets across Umm Salal and neighboring areas.

The initiative aims to raise awareness among business owners and employees about the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of commercial establishments and their surroundings, adhering to proper health practices, and disposing of waste in designated containers, thereby contributing to a cleaner urban environment, safeguarding public health, and reflecting the civilized image of the State of Qatar.

The initiative includes field visits carried out by Barzan Youth Center participants, during which awareness and guidance materials will be distributed to commercial establishments, restaurants, and markets, while emphasizing the importance of complying with municipal regulations and instructions and following best practices in cleanliness, health, and safety, thereby strengthening community partnerships between government entities and youth.

In a press statement, Barzan Youth Center affirmed that the “Commitment and Impact” initiative stems from the Center’s belief that youth are partners in building a more aware and sustainable society, and that promoting a culture of compliance with regulations and environmental preservation is a shared responsibility that requires the concerted efforts of all members of society and its institutions.

The Center added that the initiative contributes to fostering the spirit of volunteerism among youth and strengthening their role in serving the community, while translating the values of positive citizenship into practical actions that support the efforts of Umm Salal Municipality to maintain public cleanliness and enhance environmental health standards. As part of encouraging commercial establishments to strive for excellence, Barzan Youth Center announced the “Commitment and Impact” Award, which will be presented to the commercial establishment demonstrating the highest level of compliance with municipal and health requirements, based on the evaluation criteria approved by Umm Salal Municipality, thereby promoting a culture of positive competition and encouraging businesses to raise standards of cleanliness and compliance with regulations.
