As part of its commitment to developing the personalities of participants in this year’s 2025 summer camp, and under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Youth Department at Al-Wakrah Sports Club organized impactful awareness activities, including a workshop and a lecture that drew strong participation from youth. The sessions focused on building self-confidence, instilling positive values, making sound decisions, and raising awareness about protection from negative influences.

The first workshop, titled “You Are Important”, was held as part of the “Nesmat Ahl Al-Janoub” program in cooperation with the Sports Security Section at the Facilities and Authorities Security Department, Ministry of Interior. It aimed to raise awareness among participants about safety and security measures at events, enhance community understanding of sports security, and strengthen the partnership between the community and security agencies. The workshop provided valuable advice and guidelines regarding participation in upcoming events, highlighting the significance of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, procedures for stadium entry, and methods of communication with security personnel to ensure safe and active community engagement in sports events nationwide. It also served as a positive turning point for participants, reinforcing self-worth and confidence among young women, and affirming that each individual has a unique and influential role in society. The session also addressed overcoming challenges, with participants engaging actively through questions and sharing personal experiences, reflecting the strong impact of the content delivered.

The second lecture, part of the “Saifi Qal’at Al-Janoub” program, was organized in cooperation with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at the Ministry of Interior and attended by 30 participants last Thursday. The awareness session shed light on the dangers of drugs and their severe impact on youth and society, as well as the risks involved in substance abuse. It also outlined the different types of drugs and ways to prevent them, emphasizing the importance of avoiding bad company, in line with the Prophet’s guidance: “A person is upon the religion of his close friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends”.
