The third edition of the women’s race series, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation, in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth and in cooperation with Education City, was held on the indoor track at Aspire Dome. The event saw strong participation from various categories, reflecting the federation’s efforts to support women’s presence in sports by providing a safe and suitable environment to practice sports.
This round of the race continues a series of women-only events that were initially included in the federation’s Ramadan calendar but were postponed due to an exceptional suspension period.
The women’s and girls’ race began at 9:30 AM and lasted for one hour until 10:30 AM, with more than 255 participants from different nationalities competing across various timed categories ranging from 5 to 30 minutes. The race featured a lively and family-oriented atmosphere, with many mothers accompanying their daughters and participating alongside them in different categories. This reflected the spirit of community sports and embodied the concept of “sports for all,” which aims to promote physical activity as a daily lifestyle.
The event also included warm-up sessions, light fitness exercises, and a variety of sports and recreational activities supervised by specialized female coaches, ensuring a comprehensive and beneficial experience for all participants.
Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, stated that the third edition of the women’s race represents an important milestone within the federation’s women’s sports agenda, organized in collaboration with Qatar Foundation. The initiative aims to provide a supportive environment that encourages women to engage actively in sports and community activities.
He expressed his satisfaction with the high level of organization and strong participation, noting that Qatari women accounted for 66% of the total participants. He said this reflects growing awareness among Qatari women of the importance of sports, especially with the availability of events that respect privacy and meet their sporting aspirations.
Al-Dosari added that this positive engagement highlights the importance of continuing such initiatives, which promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage women and girls of all ages to adopt regular physical activity. He emphasized that the federation is committed to diversifying women-focused programs and attracting broader participation in sports and community activities.
He concluded by stressing the importance of continued engagement with these initiatives to achieve their goals, noting that the federation allocates significant space for women’s sports events within its annual calendar, which includes more than 850 community sports activities this year.
