The competitions of the 2026 Ministries and Entities Men’s Padel Championship came to a close, a tournament organized by the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau in cooperation with the Qatar Sports for All Federation, an affiliate of the Ministry of Sports and Youth. The matches were held at the Platinum Hall of Al Sadd Sports Club, concluding on Saturday evening.

The championship witnessed a high level of competition and distinguished participation by Qatari players from among employees of ministries and government entities. Matches were played across five courts, with an average of 32 matches per day, in an exciting competitive atmosphere that reflected the significant development and rapid growth of padel sport in Qatar.

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) team claimed first place, represented by the duo Ahmed Al Baker and Khaled Al Janahi. The General Civil Aviation Authority team finished second, through Mohammed Al Shammari and Omar Mohammed, while the General Authority of Customs secured third place, represented by players Saeed Rashid Al Abdullah and Yaqoub Ali Al Ajail.

This evening, competitions of the Women’s Padel Championship will begin at the Platinum Hall in Al Sadd, starting at 4:00pm, with the final matches scheduled for 10:00pm. The championship will conclude tonight following the decisive round.

Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, affirmed that the Ministries and Entities Padel Championship represents a real addition to efforts supporting and promoting padel, a sport that continues to gain increasing popularity in Qatar. He noted that the tournament featured exciting and competitive atmospheres among all participating employees.

Al Dosari emphasized that the Qatar Sports for All Federation places great importance on strengthening cooperation and partnerships with various governmental and private institutions to organize diverse sporting events that contribute to spreading the culture of sports participation on the widest possible scale, reaching the largest segment of society across different age groups. This aligns with the federation’s plans and programs and supports efforts to make sport a daily lifestyle.

He added that the continuous growth in the number of padel players, along with the significant development in infrastructure and the spread of courts across the country, reflects the success of joint efforts in supporting community sports. He expressed his hope that both the men’s and women’s padel championships would achieve their intended objectives.

The competitions in both championships are held in accordance with the regulations and laws of the Qatar Padel Federation. Qualification and Round of 16 matches are played in a best-of-nine games format with the application of the golden point rule, while quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals are played in a best-of-three sets format, with a 10-point super tie-break and the golden point rule applied.
