The Public Works Authority “Ashghal”, in cooperation with the Qatar Scientific Club, concluded the activities of the fifth edition of the “Future Engineer” programme, which saw the participation of 40 male and female secondary school students.

The programme builds on the success of previous editions and reflects Ashghal’s commitment to investing in national talent from the early stages by providing an educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, thereby contributing to the development of creative thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills, while introducing participants to the vital role of engineering in supporting the national development process.

In this regard, Ms. Fatima Al Kubaisi, Head of the External Relations Section at the Public Works Authority “Ashghal”, affirmed that the “Future Engineer” programme embodies the Authority’s commitment to its social responsibility and its dedication to investing in young people’s potential from an early stage by providing an integrated educational experience that combines knowledge with practical application.

She explained that this edition gave participants the opportunity to gain direct exposure to engineering work environments and learn about the nature of engineering projects and targeted engineering disciplines, thereby contributing to developing their skills, broadening their knowledge, and preparing them to make more informed decisions about their future and actively contribute to the national development process.

For his part, Mr. Ghanem Abdullah Al Kaabi, Head of the Training and Administrative Development Section at “Ashghal”, stated that investing in young people’s potential begins by equipping them with knowledge and practical experience, affirming Ashghal’s commitment to supporting secondary school students and introducing them to the various engineering disciplines.

In turn, Ms. Fatima Al Muhannadi, Administrative and Financial Director of the Qatar Scientific Club, pointed out that the programme represents a pioneering model of institutional integration in serving the next generation, affirming the Club’s commitment to providing an educational environment that fosters a passion for science and engineering.

For her part, Ms. Khawla Al Maadheed, Head of the Public Relations and Communications Section at the Qatar Scientific Club, praised the efforts demonstrated by the young participants throughout this edition, highlighting their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and explore, which made the programme a truly enriching experience that will positively influence their future paths.

The fifth edition concluded with an official ceremony during which participants presented their final engineering projects before a specialized judging panel. The winning teams were announced, and all participants were honored, reaffirming the success of the partnership between the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” and the Qatar Scientific Club in preparing a generation of young people equipped with knowledge, skills and innovation, thereby contributing to achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
