Under the patronage of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the ministry’s centers in Al Khor and Al Dhakhira, in cooperation with several government agencies, organized a pioneering initiative titled “We Are All Responsible,” aimed at promoting national values and instilling a spirit of social responsibility among youth.
The initiative was organized with the participation of Al Dhakhira Youth Center, Al Dhakhira Girls’ Forum, Al Khor Girls’ Center, Al Khor Youth Committee, and Friends of the Environment Center, supported by government bodies including the Ministry of Municipality, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Public Works Authority, and Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The initiative began with an awareness campaign directed at school students from April 14 to 17, 2025, covering four boys’ and girls’ schools. It included interactive activities highlighting the importance of community work and explaining the initiative’s goals and pillars, aiming to attract students to youth centers and organizations.
In this regard, Mr. Mubarak Jaithan Al-Dosari, Head of the Youth Centers and Bodies Department, said: “At the Ministry of Sports and Youth, we believe that true investment begins with people, and youth are the greatest asset for the country’s future. The ‘We Are All Responsible’ initiative embodies this belief by providing youth the opportunity to be true partners in serving society, not just as recipients but as active initiators. We have seen ideas turn into actions, and the desire to volunteer become practical steps on the ground — this is what we always aspire to. We consider this initiative a model to be followed in activating the role of youth centers and bodies, strengthening youth’s connection to their national identity and community issues. We work for these events to be a launchpad for broader and deeper initiatives that harness energies and build an aware generation capable of facing challenges and making a difference.”
As part of the preparation stages, the organizing team underwent intensive training workshops to qualify 85 young men and women in leadership skills, planning, and implementing community initiatives. The training included both theoretical and practical aspects to build youth cadres capable of leading teams and organizing activities effectively.
The field activities of the initiative took place from May 2 to 4, 2025, witnessing active participation of 285 young men and women distributed over 14 sites in Al Khor and Al Dhakhira within five specialized teams:
- Al Sidra Team (Agriculture): Reviving green spaces and planting native trees.
- Environmental Awareness Team: Promoting sustainable environmental behaviors.
- Arts Team: Spreading beauty and creativity in public spaces.
- Safety and Security Team: Raising awareness about safety and community prevention.
- Sibrr Team: Addressing negative phenomena and proposing youth-driven solutions.
At the closing of the activities, Mr. Hamad Hassan Al-Mahdi, Head of Al Dhakhira Youth Center, said: “We have concluded the ‘We Are All Responsible’ initiative, which aimed to enhance values of social responsibility and positive participation among youth. The initiative included a series of field and awareness activities, starting with school visits and extending to training sessions and active participation in community work. The initiative witnessed widespread engagement from the moment it was announced, with great turnout from local families — a clear indication of the community’s awareness and genuine desire to contribute effectively to the development journey.
With this collective spirit, the ‘We Are All Responsible’ initiative proves that youth are not only the future of the nation but its vibrant present. This step is just the beginning of a longer path, writing new chapters of joint work and sustainable giving.”
